Every year on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend we host our show honoring our veterans. We do it in the name of our namesake Aaron Walston (AWAL). We aim to continue what Aaron started in life. This day was chosen because it's the day we lost Aaron in 2021 because of a motorcycle crash.
Aaron bled Red, White, & Blue. He was unable to serve his country, so instead he turned his focus to helping our veterans. This is the purpose of the Aaron Walston Memorial Day Car Show. To carry on Aaron's name and legacy. To give back to those who have given so much to us. 100% of the proceeds from the show go to support our veterans in GallantFew. A non profit that helps veterans who may struggle reentering civilian life. It's a charity Aaron worked closely with.
This is a judged show with 30 awards up for grabs. A top 20 plus 10 specialty awards including, Best in Show, Veteran's Pick, Best Bike, Best Classic, Best Modern, Boss Bitch (Best female owned), and a Club Participation Trophy to go to whichever car or bike club that has the most registered rides.
All makes, models, years, car, trucks, and bikes are welcome. If you can roll it in, you can bring it in.
Doors open for registration at 9am and goes until Noon. There is a $20 registration fee. If you'd like to pre-register you can do so by emailing us your info. You can then pay your $20 the morning of the show when you pick up your papers. The first 40 people registered will receive a free commemorative dash plaque. Awards will be handed out at 2pm, the show concludes at 3pm. It's free to the public.
We will have some special items up for auction on our silent auction table. We can't say what they are until the day of the show, but if you like to "build with your imagination", you'll dig these items. We will also have a 50/50 raffle.
The veteran owned food truck Henry’s Cocina will be there, plus Tikiz shaved ice and our friends from Just Love Coffee Cafe. All serving up some delicious meals, drinks, and treats. We will also have bottled water for sale for a dollar.
Come register early and join our good friends in TFT (Tomorrow's Family Today) as they put on their monthly Caffeine & Classics podcast. This is a great organization helping the youth of our community. One of their programs is teaching the youth about cars. The class is currently rebuilding an '87 C10. TFT will be handing out scholarships at the show for these kids.
There will be a Youth Pick award that these guys will be judging for and handing out. Come show the next generation how bad ass the car culture is.
We will also be joined by some of our past Caffeine & Gasoline spotlighted charities. So come on out for a great day of hot rods and giving back to our community.
A big thank you to Streetside Classics (5400 Sandshell Dr 76137) for giving us a place to host our event. Come check out all the cars they have for sale. If they don't have the car you want, you don't need that car!
See you there! tutto amore- ❤️
